2012 Malone Women's Tennis Schedule

The Malone University women's tennis team has announced its schedule for the 2012 season.  The Pioneers will open a new era this year as the squad begins play in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), now competing primarily in the fall rather than in the spring.

Malone, under the direction of second-year head coach Brian Mogus, will start the season on Thursday, August 30th with a 4:00 p.m. home match against Geneva (PA) College.   Following another home contest against Thiel (PA) College on September 4th, the Pioneers will play 11 of their next 13 matches away from Canton, including weekend trips to Michigan September 8-10 and September 14-16.

The Pioneers will square off with local rival Walsh University at home on Monday, October 1st at 4:30 p.m.  Following the abundance of early-season road matches, Malone will then wrap up the year with six straight home contests, starting with a 12:00 p.m. match-up with Ashland University on October 5th and ending with a 12:00 p.m. showdown with Hillsdale (MI) College on October 14th.

As long as all NCAA requirements are met, the Pioneers will compete as a NCAA Division II provisional member in 2012.  Malone would then become eligible for the NCAA postseason in 2013 as full NCAA Division II members.
