The Malone University men's tennis team collected its first victory of the 2012-13 season with a 5-4 win at Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday. With the non-conference win, the Pioneers improved to 1-4 overall on the year and remained at 0-2 in GLIAC play while the Battling Bishops fell to 2-3 on the season.
The #1 and #2 doubles teams posted wins for Malone as did
Nate Davis at #2,
Alex Steinmetz at #4 and
Andrew Hill at #6. With the team score tied at 4-4 and only the #6 singles match left to be finished, the Pioneers' Hill pocketed a 6-4, 6-4 win to seal the match victory for Malone.
