The Malone University football team and Kiwanis International are teaming up for a special promotion for the Pioneers' final home game of the 2010 season. Saturday, November 13th is being touted as “Fill Up Fawcett” day as Malone hopes to have a much larger crowd than usual at Fawcett Stadium for its 2010 finale against Olivet Nazarene (IL) University. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. that day.
The contest, which is also Malone's Senior Day (in which all Pioneer seniors will be recognized for playing in their final home game), will also be “Church Appreciation Day” in which churches in attendance will be recognized. Kiwanis and local church congregations encourage the community to fill up Fawcett and, to help promote this, everyone will be admitted to the game free of charge that day with the donation of at least one non-perishable food item. All donations will benefit the Stark County Hunger Task Force and Refuge of Hope.
Among those in attendance that day will be the Kiwanis Governor, as well as members representing all Kiwanis chapters from Northeast Ohio (Division 17).
The event is also sponsored with the assistance of Malone's Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) chapter.
