Malone University sophomore middle hitter
Hannah Haver was recently named the American Mideast Conference's Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Pioneers to the tournament title at this past weekend's Trojan Challenge hosted by Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.
Haver, of Fredericksburg, Ohio (Central Christian H.S.), earned Tournament MVP honors after averaging 2.5 kills and 1.75 digs per match to go with a .352 attack percentage, two service aces and six block assists. Haver posted double-digit kills in all four of Malone's weekend victories, including 11 kills and 12 digs in an upset win over NAIA #11 Indiana Tech on Saturday. The Pioneers trailed by a two sets to none or a two sets to one margin in all four contests at the Trojan Challenge, but the squad managed to rally back, taking each match in five sets. The Pioneers' overall record now stands at 8-0, marking the best start to a season in head coach
Tanya Hockman's 12 years at the helm of the Malone volleyball program.
The Pioneers are set to return to action on Tuesday evening with a 7:00 p.m. match at home against the University of Mount Union.
