Malone Women’s Basketball To Host Cancer Awareness Foundation Game November 22

Lauren Myers (at left) and Audrey Myers (right) will both be playing in a doubleheader basketball event at Malone University on Nov. 22 in support of cancer awareness. Their mother, Meleny Myers (center), has bone cancer and has recently returned home from undergoing treatment in a Texas hospital.

In conjunction with its own home regular-season contest on November 22nd vs. Tiffin University (5:30 p.m. tipoff), the Malone University women's basketball team will also host, in Malone's Osborne Hall gymnasium, a Cancer Awareness Foundation Game in which the Lake High School girls basketball team will face Marlington High School at 7:30 p.m..

This special doubleheader has not only been organized in order to promote cancer awareness and research but to also raise funds for Meleny Myers , who is currently battling bone cancer.  She is the mother of Malone women's basketball player Lauren Myers and Lake girls basketball player Audrey Myers.  Previously, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and overcame this but a bone cancer diagnosis came shortly afterwards.  She has recently returned home from undergoing treatment in a Texas hospital.

All proceeds from both contests that evening will go to the Myers family to help assist them with medical expenses. In addition, a silent auction is planned.

Ticket prices for the doubleheader are $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for students and senior citizens.  The Malone and Lake communities sincerely appreciate your support of this special evening.
