Coaches: Malone –
Eric Hehman is in his fifth season as the Pioneers' head coach and has tallied an 11-41 record at Malone. Prior to arriving in Canton, Hehman spent the previous five years as the head coach at NCAA Division III Greenville (IL) College where he led the Panthers to a 28-22 record and a berth in the 2009 NCCAA Victory Bowl.
Northwood –
Pat Riepma returned to the sidelines as the Timberwolves' head coach this season after previously serving in the role from 1993-2007. During his first stint as head coach, he was a four-time GLIAC Coach of the Year, leading Northwood to a 90-69-2 record, three conference titles and four NCAA playoff appearances. Riepma was named the Timberwolves' athletic director in 2000 and continued in that position until his return to coaching in November of 2013.

Malone Notes: The Pioneers suffered a 38-0 defeat at home to the University of Findlay this past Saturday…The Oilers built a 21-0 halftime lead and then put the game away with a field goal and two more touchdowns over the final two quarters. Findlay's defense played a huge role in the victory, returning an interception and a fumble recovery for touchdowns while forcing a total of five turnovers on the night…Malone is currently ranked fourth among the GLIAC's 15 teams in passing defense, yielding an average of 200.6 yards through the air per game.

Brandyn Eckhart accounted for 184 yards of offense on Saturday, throwing for 126 and rushing for 58 …In six games played this year, Eckhart has tallied 703 passing yards and five touchdowns…RB
Ronnie Beers, who has notched a team-best eight touchdowns on the year (six rushing, two receiving), is the Pioneers' leading rusher with 478 yards on 81 carries (5.9 average)…WR
Josh McLaughlin has posted a team-high 24 catches in 2014 for 332 yards and three TDs…DB
Demarco Donaldson posted eight tackles on Saturday and also forced his sixth fumble of the year to tie Jason Wallick's single-season record …Donaldson, who holds the Malone career forced fumbles record with 16, has posted a team-high 80 tackles on the season and is currently tied for the NCAA Division II lead in both forced fumbles and fumbles recovered (four)…DL
Colton Hale has registered four blocked kicks this year…Hale is currently tied for fifth in NCAA Division II in blocked kicks and needs one more to tie Moses Sherman for the Pioneer single-season record.
Northwood Notes: The Timberwolves won four of their first seven games, but have since lost three straight, including a 24-14 defeat at Hillsdale (MI) College last Saturday… Northwood trailed 17-7 at halftime before cutting the deficit to 17-14 with a TD drive on their opening possession of the third quarter…However, the Chargers answered with a touchdown drive of their own and then held the Timberwolves off the scoreboard over the remainder of the game…Overall, Hillsdale limited Northwood to 10 first downs and 205 total yards in Saturday's contest…The Timberwolves' defense has forced 20 turnovers on the season (13 interceptions, seven fumble recoveris), which is tied for third most in the GLIAC.
Northwood players to watch: RB Jared Briguglio is ranked seventh in the GLIAC in rushing, having carried the ball 168 times for 840 yards (5.0 yards per carry) and six touchdowns…QB Mark Morris has completed 62 of 101 pass attempts (61.4%) this season for 952 yards and 10 TDs…QBs Mitch Robinson and Jimmy Strom, who split time at QB last week for the Timberwolves, have combined to throw for 832 and two scores this year…WR Devonta Elzy and RB Damian Nicholson have been the top targets in the passing game, each with 20 or more catches and over 300 receiving yards…RB Ryan Thomas has made an impact in the return game this year, averaging 24.7 yards per kickoff return and 6.5 yards per punt return…Linebacker Michael Fisher leads the GLIAC and ranks 16th in NCAA Division II with 116 tackles…DB Ayrn Curtis returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown in last week's game at Hillsdale… Curtis, now with 60 tackles on the season, ranks second in the GLIAC with six interceptions and leads the conference in pass break-ups with 11.
