What is your favorite coaching memory at Malone?-At the Phipps Memorial a couple years ago, at Alliance Country Club. The greens were extremely fast, and one of the pins was in a very tough position – lots of people were 4- or 5-putting that day because it was almost impossible to keep the ball from rolling off the green. One of our players hit a nice iron to the middle, but still had about a 25-foot putt. We looked it over together, decided on the line, and she made it.
Where did you grow up?-Canton, Ohio, in Perry Township.
What sports did you play in school (high school and/or college)?-Just golf in school, but I also danced competitively for 14 years.
What's your most embarrassing memory (as a coach at Malone or in general)?-My second year of coaching, we were at our conference championship in late April. It had rained a lot the night before, so the course was very wet. Instead of going down the cart path to get to another hole, I tried to take a shortcut and got my golf cart completely stuck in the mud. I had to have a maintenance worker help push me out!
What is your favorite dessert?-Who has just one favorite dessert?! If I had to choose, though, I'd say the Red Velvet Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory.
What's the greatest accomplishment you have achieved at Malone?-As a player, qualifying for the NAIA National Tournament as an individual my sophomore year. As a coach, taking the women's golf team to the NCCAA National Tournament in 2011.
What's your favorite Bible verse?-Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is –– His good, pleasing, and perfect will.
What's your favorite professional sports team(s)?-The Cleveland Indians.
What's your favorite restaurant in the area?-Grinder's Above and Beyond, on Whipple Ave.
What's your favorite hobby or activity outside of coaching?-Definitely singing. Not everyone knows, but besides coaching at Malone, I'm also an adjunct voice instructor. I have my Master's degree in Music.
