This week's "Pioneer Spotlight: Get to know the Malone Athletes" segment features softball junior transfer
Kari Hall. Hall, is a pitcher from Phoenix, Arizona, who comes to Malone after competing at Paradise Valley Community College (AZ). She has appeared in 50 innings and has recorded 31 strikeouts as a pitcher thus far for the Pioneers this season.
Why did you pick Malone?-I picked Malone because when I came on my visit, it just felt right. I felt like I belonged here.

What's your fondest memory at Malone?-So far my fondest memory here at Malone is the Davenport Derby with my team.

What sports did you play in high school?-I played only softball in high school.
Â
What's your most embarrassing moment as an athlete?-My most embarrassing moment as an athlete was when I went to get a passed ball and my shoelace got caught on the fence and I tripped and fell on my face in front of everyone.

Who has been your biggest role model?-My biggest role model would be my older sister. She is a motivated, strong, independent woman who has a heart of gold.

What's your favorite professional sport team(s)?-My favorite professional sports team is the Arizona Diamondbacks

What's your game-day routine?-My game day routine is usually waking up in the morning and eating a good breakfast while jamming out to my favorite pump up songs. Right before games I like to keep to myself and think about what I need to do to perform my best.

What do you like to do in your down time?-In my down time I like to hike and spend time with family.

What are your goals for the future?-Goals for my future are to finish school and start my career while maybe coaching a young softball team.
The softball team will play at home on Saturday, April 25th at 1:00 p.m. in a doubleheader against rivals Walsh University.
