Keanan Locke Earns GLIAC South Player of the Week Honors

Malone University centerfielder Keanan Locke was named GLIAC South Player of the Week after a tremendous week for the Pioneers.

In five games last week, Locke had at least one hit in every contest, finishing 11-of-21 at the plate. In addition to his .524 batting average, the junior leadoff hitter also drew four walks and effectively set the table with a .600 on-base percentage.

Against Lake Erie on Saturday, Locke was outstanding, going 7-of-8 in a doubleheader sweep of the Storm. In his second at bat in game one, he clubbed his first career grand slam and went on to collect seven RBI, five runs, and two stolen bases for the Pioneers in the twinbill.

Locke leads a potent Malone lineup that currently ranks first in the GLIAC in team batting average (.341). Individually, he is currently second in the conference in average (.461) and hits (35), third in stolen bases (8), and fourth in on-base percentage (.494).
