Marta Jankowska began her three days of competition at the NCAA Division II National Championships on Wednesday morning by taking part in the prelims of the 200-yard individual medley.
Although Jankowska was primarily using the 200 IM to help prepare her for the 100 and 200 butterfly competitions that will come later in the week, she still managed to post a time of 2:09.88 – the eighth fastest 200 IM mark in program history.
Malone head coach
Russ Hunt was very pleased with Marta's performance.Â
"Today's race, particularly Marta's butterfly, looked fluid, and mechanically very sound," commented Hunt. "She did a great job this morning preparing for the 100 and 200 butterfly, which was precisely the path we chose to pursue two weeks ago as we began preparing for her time on the national stage."
Jankowska will continue competition at Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana on Thursday morning when she competes in the preliminaries of the 100 yard butterfly. The 200 yard butterfly will follow on Friday.
Preliminaries start at 10:30 a.m. each day with the finals following at 6:00 p.m.
Live video and live results will be provided throughout the event. Additional meet information can be found by clicking on the links at the top of the page.
