Malone University's
Ashton Dulin had an outstanding showing on Thursday evening at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championship Meet.
The sophomore won his preliminary heat in the 400-meter hurdles, advancing to Saturday's Championship final with a Malone and Great Midwest Athletic Conference record time of 51.40 seconds.
Dulin's time was the third-best among the 20 competitors who took part in Thursday's preliminaries. The mark surpassed his previous school record of 51.79 seconds that he registered as a freshman in 2016. The impressive performance also broke the G-MAC record of 52.06 seconds that Dulin established last month at Ohio State University's Jesse Owens Classic.
