Heather Curtis

Heather Curtis, a 2007 graduate of Malone University and a former Pioneer golfer, completed her sixth season as head coach of the Malone women’s golf team in 2014-15.  She took over the head coaching duties following the completion of the Pioneers' 2009 fall campaign when Max Baker, who had served as the head coach for the previous 6 1/2 years, stepped down.

Under Curtis’ guidance, the team finished runner-up at the American Mideast Conference/Ohio Independent Championships in 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Curtis was the top golfer for the Malone program for nearly her entire four-year career at the college, having earned All-Conference honors and also qualifying as an individual for the NAIA national tournament as a sophomore (after winning the NAIA Region IX tournament).

“Heather will be a great asset to our athletes and our department in taking on this role,” said Malone Athletic Director Charlie Grimes upon naming Heather the coach in December of 2009. “She has great enthusiasm not only for golf, but also for leading and mentoring student-athletes in being successful leaders.  I’m excited to see her continue our great tradition in women’s golf.”

Heather married her husband, David Curtis, in August of 2012.  The couple currently resides in Navarre.
