The Malone University men's soccer team will play a pair of home conference games this week against Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene. The Pioneers will face Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday at 12:00pm at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. On Saturday, Malone will face Trevecca Nazarene at 3:30pm at the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Legacy Sports Complex.

The Pioneers came close to earning their first victory of the season last week as they fell to Alderson Broaddus by a score of 2-1 in double overtime. The team hopes to continue takings strides towards success and build off of competitive games like the game against Alderson Broaddus. In the 2016 season, Malone split with Kentucky Wesleyan and lost both games to Trevecca Nazarene. Malone's victory over Kentucky Wesleyan was one of the highest moments of the 2016 campaign. The team hopes to feel that same level of success against the Panthers in the 2017 season. Malone will be looking for some revenge against Trevecca Nazarene, who defeated the Pioneers in both of their matchups last year. Four separate players have scored a goal for Malone this season. Sam Condon leads the team in shots taken with 17. Nick Wilhelm started both games at goalkeeper last week. In those two games, Wilhelm allowed four goals and had thirteen saves.

Like the Pioneers, Kentucky Wesleyan is still in search of its first win of the 2017 season. The Panthers finished their 2016 season with a record of 3-14. Kentucky Wesleyan tied Trevecca Nazarene in their second game of the season this year and two out of their three losses have been by one goal. The Panthers will face Findlay on Tuesday evening before traveling to Malone on Thursday. Kentucky Wesleyan has scored three goals this season, two by Austin Moore and one by Ben Protheroe. Grant Allen has started all four games as goalkeeper for the Panthers. Allen has 17 saves on the season and has allowed seven goals.

The Trojans are coming off of their second win of the season, as they defeated Cedarville 2-1 last Saturday. Trevecca went 7-10-1 in the 2016 season. The Trojans went 5-6-1 in the G-MAC. Trevecca has scored seven goals thus far during the 2017 season. Three of their goals have come from Ethan Keogh. Reed Coffman has two goals for the Trojans this season. Tyler Delgado has been in goal all six games this season. He has allowed nine goals with 23 saves. Delgado has a 1.40 goals per game average. He has one shutout this season as well. Before facing Malone on Saturday, Trevecca will take on the Walsh Cavaliers in North Canton.
